Happy Cinco de Mayo! May 5, 2012

Hey everyone been very busy this week and didn’t get a chance to post anything, yet I did want to take some time out to wish everyone a happy Cinco de Mayo, for those of you who are planning to get started today!  Now don’t confuse Cinco de Mayo with Mexico’s independence. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. It commemorates an unlikely victory of the Mexican army over French forces almost 150 years ago. El Dia de la Batalla de Puebla - The Day of the Battle of Puebla. It was a win over the French forces in Puebla, and for some reason has been confused as Mexico’s independence day. So at least know that much when you are asked why you are celebrating today.

I have a small list of events that are happening throughout Grand Rapids, most of the events have likes on the Facebook page, here are a few for you subscribers.
