Mormon Ad Campaign Seeks to Improve Perceptions – NYTimes.com

The Mormon’s or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had invest millions of dollars in a new  campaign to change the churches stigma as “secretive,” “cultish,” “sexist,” “controlling,” “pushy,” “anti-gay.” These results were shown to ministries and many found the image laughable others booed at the idea. Yet the church informed them the church was ready with a response: a multimillion-dollar television, billboard and Internet advertising campaign that uses the tagline, “I’m a Mormon.”  So now it looks like the Mormons are going to take a new approach to their ministry invest in advertising and image revival. I’m very interested in how an advertisement agency will affect the amount of converts and how other religious will also take the Mormon’s example and begin their own advertising campaigns. I saw a few of the videos and it looks like the amount of money they have invested is paying off. They have taken the story of every day Mormons and presented it in a compelling and heartwarming way, its definitively show that the images used, the people selected and the choreography is made to reach out and make people reconsider who Mormons are. I guess the old holy wars didn’t work so well, now I think we’ll have the social media wars to increase its converts and message. Mormon Ad Campaign Seeks to Improve Perceptions – NYTimes.comhttp://mormon.org/me/1RY0-eng/
