Axe Deodorant Ad Banned for Offending Christians – News – FashionEtc.com. Sometimes religion get in a fuzz about the wrong things. It seems the latest AXE campaign of angles has been banned in South Africa because following a complaint from a male Christian viewer, who said he was upset by the suggestion that God’s messengers could literally fall for a man on the basis of his shop-bought fragrance, the article continues by stating that many Christians would find it offensive that Angels would discard their heavenly status for mortal pleasures. First off in the bible it states that Angels have done this before (Bible, Genesis 6:1-4) and secondly its been a long time since we’ve heard of Angels falling to earth (Also I don’t think there was ever a restriction placed on Angels taking mortal form, could be wrong). I think this commercial falls in the fiction category. What really gets my bind going is that people aren’t offended by how sexist and chauvinistic the commercials are to begin with, but instead tend to get upset at fictional scenes depicting sexual overtones. I don’t see anyone clamoring over the Victoria Secret Angels in their multimillion dollar bras.
