A March for Immigrant Workers Rights! Sat. Nov. 19 Clark Park, Detroit

A March for Immigrant Workers Rights! will take place on Saturday, November 19 · 1:00pm - 4:00pm, at Clark Park Detroit, Michigan.

This is an event I received on Facebook, about the Mastronardi Produce Packing Plant with abuses and bad business practices being employed by the company against its workers and the products it sells. Article from detnews.com  The event is organized by Reform Immigration FOR America – Michigan.  Another article from michiganforward.org

Please join the AIR Works “Justice for Packing Workers Committee” this Saturday!
Immigrant workers at the Mastronardi Produce packing plant have had their pay stolen and were forced to work in dangerous, unsafe conditions.
Workers report “being treated like animals” and being forced to disguise moldy, low-quality fruit for sale at local stores!
-A pregnant worker with morning sickness was denied the ability to use the bathroom, and was forced to vomit in a trash can.
-Workers weren’t allowed to leave the plant during a dangerous chemical spill, and were forced to keep working. When some passed out, they even had to pay for their own ambulance!
-Workers pay was regularly short, and they were forced to be on-site often for 2 hours before being allowed to punch in.
Join us at Clark Park in Detroit to caravan to the Mastronardi Plant in Livonia to march and demand that the company negotiate fairly with workers for stolen pay and safe conditions.
